Is Returning to Melton Right for You? Truck Driver Pay & More

There are thousands of trucking companies on the road for you to choose from, but returning to a company you know and trust can be a rewarding experience – especially when that company is Melton Truck Lines. We welcome eligible rehires to rejoin the team that values their experience and commitment. There are many advantages to returning to Melton, including a limited time $1,500 PHE pay for rehires and experienced drivers – keep reading to learn why we’re the best place to restart your driving career.

Familiarity with Company Procedures and Policies

When you return to Melton, you’ll immediately have an advantage – you’ve experienced securing loads, driving over the road, and Melton’s safety instructions before. This means adapting to the career again will be much easier than starting at a new company. Depending on your previous tenure and experience outside of Melton, you may not even be required to retake the entire training course, so you’re on the road and making money as soon as possible.

More Compensation and Mentorship Opportunities

If it’s been awhile since you’ve driven for Melton, you may be surprised by the amount of new programs available for you to branch out from truck driving, and the many opportunities for drivers to bring in extra income. As a refresher, here is a summary of the programs we currently offer our drivers:

Road Warrior: We want to reward the drivers who are sacrificing their time at home. For every three weeks a driver spends on the road, they can choose between an extra day of home time that can be banked and used whenever they please, or an extra $200 on their check.

Melton Influencer: Interested in sharing your Melton experience online? We pay our drivers for posting social media videos about driving for Melton; influencers can also earn up to $1,000 for each new hire they refer through their content!

Road Dawg: If you want to speak to CDL students about why they should drive for Melton, our Road Dawg program is for you. This is another great opportunity to earn bonuses for referring CDL graduates to Melton!

Melton Mentor: Our Mentors are available to assist new drivers in their transition to the flatbed trucking life. They can answer questions about driving OTR, load securement, and more. Mentors receive a payout each month if minimum requirements are met and recorded.

Road Trainer: For drivers with over a year of Melton experience, you can be approved to train new Melton drivers on your truck. You’ll receive extra pay for each day a trainee is on your truck, as well as retention bonuses when your trainee reaches certain milestones.

Rehired Drivers Earn Additional Trucking Pay: $1,500 PHE Pay

To make the return process more rewarding, we’re offering a limited time $1,500 pay for experienced drivers and rehires who join our 11/11 and 11/18 pre-hire evaluation classes. This is nearly double the amount for inexperienced drivers, but these classes have limited availability. If you’re interested, please submit an application or contact our Recruiting team.

How Do I Get Rehired at Melton Truck Lines?

The process of getting rehired will depend on the terms you left Melton, as well as the experience you’ve had since leaving Melton. To start the process, you can submit a one-minute application here or reach out to our Recruiting team at (866) 715-8563.

From there, you and the Recruiter will determine if you’re eligible for rehire, as well as if you’re required to go through the full training process. Depending on your driving experience, you might be able to get your own truck as soon as you’re done with pre-hire evaluation, instead of riding along with a trainer for three weeks.

If you’re ready to return to the road with Melton, we’d be happy to have you! There’s never been a better time to come back – make sure to join the 11/11 or 11/18 pre-hire evaluation classes in order to qualify for the $1,500 pay. To learn more, view our flatbed driving jobs page here, or fill out an application now to start the rehire process today.
