Melton Announces 2nd driver pay increase of 2021

Just this year, we doubled tarp pay from $50 to $100, announced a 20% driver base pay increase, and quadrupled our average driver referral bonus. Our employees’ continued efforts to work safely and productively enables us to give another well-deserved increase to our drivers!”

Melton Truck Lines, a premier air-ride flatbed carrier based in Tulsa, OK, is pleased to announce a driver pay increase. All company drivers will receive some sort of increase. Melton’s pay scale still varies depending on experience and tenure. This increase will start student drivers at 47 CPM and will give the most experienced drivers 63 CPM. Melton’s base pay increase keeps the company in the top industry pay scale according to the National Survey of Driver Wages.

Melton Truck Lines Announces Doubling Tarp Pay

Melton Truck Lines, a 2021 Military Friendly® Employer, conducted a driver wide survey which found an increase in tarp pay would be the most meaningful pay increase. This new tarp pay will take effect on Feb. 2, 2021, and will impact their existing and future drivers.

Melton Truck Lines is finally all moved into its brand new 77,000-square-foot headquarters in east Tulsa.

In addition to new features like a state-of-the-art gym and a restaurant packed with healthy options, the three-story facility offers the once-cramped Melton space to accommodate a planned doubling in size over the next decade.

Melton Truck Lines employees were greeted by a stunning 35-foot Christmas tree when they reported to work the Monday before Thanksgiving week, the first holiday season in their new 77,000-square-foot building.

“I think I saw no less than five posts of pictures of the tree on Facebook that day,” said Shayla Williams, safety and employee services staffer.

Melton truck lines adds stepdeck trailers

Flatbed carrier Melton Truck Lines has added 53-foot stepdeck trailers to its fleet to allow the company to meet a broader scope of customer needs, the company announced. 

The company now has 200 all-aluminum stepdeck trailers that are lightweight and able to scale a 48,000-pound payload.
